The Music of Christian Faith

For the last few millennia, Christian missionaries have spread their faith across the globe. It now encompasses diverse cultures, and they have been woven into the practice of the faith. Each culture has its own musical traditions, and the people of many lands have been brought into the church by those who served local congregations. The church was also a heavy patron of artists and musicians in European cultures for many centuries. These have been the main sources for the music that inspires and connects congregations around the world.

There are many different Christian sects, and each has its own style of music. Many of them have kept the musical traditions of the original Roman Catholic Church, but others have chosen to incorporate their own local brands of music. No matter their source, it is a large part of the glue that holds congregations together, gives them hope and inspires them.
