VICTORIA ROAD CHURCH, LLANELLI This small church in the ‘Seaside’ area of Llanelli began with a group of Christians meeting near North Dock. The building was probably put up sometime in the 1870’s. Seaside is very much its own community and the church has retained that character – though always sharing links with the larger Llanelli Methodist church in Hall Street. In 1989/90 extensive renovations to the building were carried out enabling it to become an open-plan church with chairs and carpeting rather than pews. This has enabled a variety of uses, particularly programmes involving children. A very exciting project has now been completed, thanks to fundraising from the members and external grants, including a new kitchen, accessible ramp and toilet facilities. Early in 2009 a new central heating system was installed in the church. It is now hoped that the church building may be used for more community activities. The
name of the church relates to a road which no longer exists, and it
should be noted that the church location is on the corner of Bryn
Road and Cambrian Road. The building is easily located right on the
Seaside Roundabout, part of the Coastal Route that by-passes the town.
SERVICES: Sunday Evening Service at 6 pm.
ACTIVITIES: Cafe Church Wednesday starts 6th April 3 - 4pm CHILDREN
