When a group of Cornish tin miners came to Burry Port to work in the foundries they missed their English language Methodist Churches. They asked their boss if land were available to construct a church and this he made available at a peppercorn rent. They then set to work and built the attractive little brick building near Burry Port Harbour. Once a very well attended and active church it in more recent years has lost a number of faithful members and has only recently begun to see growth again.

An exciting new development has been the new Leslie Griffiths Centre attached to the rear of the church, and comprising a modern meeting/conference room and adjacent kitchen facilities.

Many new projects are taking place in Burry Port and in time the Methodist Church will be accessible to much new housing planned south of the railway. The developments planned for the church make it possible to envisage providing both church programmes and other amenities for those who will move into the area.

When the new roundabout by the railway bridge is completed Glanmor terrace and the church should be accessible by crossing that bridge and taking the first exit from the roundabout. The two blocks of Plas y Mor residential flats are seen on the left then the church is on the right.
